Emperor Angelfish - Juvenile

Pomacanthus imperator

Profile notes:

Popular amongst aquarists and extremely robust compared with the juveniles of some species of angelfish the Emperor is readily identified by the circular white hoops present in the pigment on the latter half of the body. These can be more or less irregular but usually complete.

Emperors grow quickly given good conditions. They appreciate a varied died including green foodstuffs. Juvenile Emperors will often clean parasites from other fish in the reef and will occasionally do this in the home aquarium. Thus they are seldom hassled by their tankmates; indeed they seem to be blissfully unaware of how small and insignificant they appear, sometimes chasing fish 2-3 times their size.
