One of the favourite butterflyfish of marine aquarists the Addis hails from the Red Sea region. At present stocks are originating from the Southern Red Sea as Saudi Arabia are no longer shipping this species. So what has never been a cheap fish is now even more expensive.

The good news is that once a specimen is purchase that this species proves hardy and long lived in captivity. Excellent water quality must be provided however and this species does well in live rock based fish only aquaria or even systems with soft corals in residence.
