An extremely popular species of
butterflyfish that sadly does not thrive in
every aquarium. One of the secrets to success
with this species is the provision of suitably
rich and nourishing food- especially in the
weeks immediately following its importation
and stocking. Fish should always be feeding
when your purchase them.
Copperbands
can lose a lot of
bodyweight when they
are collected
and shipped and
this needs to be
reversed if they
are to stand a chance.
Feeding a stingy
amount of food
to this fish after
stocking will mean
that the weight loss
is not reversed and
it can mean that
starvation results.
Thus feeding
multiple times
per day on particluate
diets such as mysis
can be very useful.
