The margined copperband is a lesser
known species collected almost exclusively from
Australian waters. Consequently it is almost
always in peak condition when available for
purchase at the wholesalers we use as part of
our stock selection process. However, although
specimens will certainly be feeding here they
can lose weight if not fed on sufficiently nutritious
foodstuffs in adequate quantities.
By
the time you notice
that many marine
butterflyfish are
looking emaciated
it could already
be too late.
In the early period
following introduction
into a new aquarum
it is often prudent
to feed a
lot more regularly
than usual - of course
keeping an eye on
the water quality.
