A small but beautiful species
of anemonefish that hails from the Maldives
and surrounding islands in the Indian Ocean.
It
is almost exclusively
associated in its
natural environment
with the host anemone
species Heteractis
magnifica, the magnificent
anemone. However,
as the latter can
be difficult to maintain
in
captivity, or are
at least one of the
more difficult species
of host anemone to
care for, aquarists
should welcome the
fact that they will
adopt
other host anemone
species.
They
will also do well
if the
absence of a host
anemone provided
healthy individuals
are sourced in
the first place-
as ours
will be!!
