Yellow Eye Tang or Kola , Kole Tang

Ctenochaetus strigosus

Profile notes:

The yellow eye tang is one of the most popular of all Hawaiian endemics. Specimens that have been in holding aquaria for a while have a tendency to become paler in colour but will regain the intensity of colour and pattern after a short time in a reef aquarium

Check that this species will accept food at your disposal before purchase. Try to avoid specimens that have come in via direct shipments unless it has fully settled and recovered from the rigors of shipping.

Although the base colour of this fish is chestnut brown it remains one of the most striking fish available in the hobby when settled and behaving naturally.
