This lovely fish is becoming increasingly
available in the hobby - perhaps the only trouble
is that people don't know what they are! Frequently
mistaken for a "dirty" or low quality
version of the yellow tang the yellow phase
scopas is actually a much rarer fish and one
that looks stunning when settled in a live rock
based aquarium.
In terms of husbandry is should
prove as robust as the brown sailfin or yellow
tang. The amount of yellow pigment can vary
significantly between individuals.
The main way to distinguish this
fish from the yellow sailfin tang is the eye-
which retains its chesnut brown border to the
pupil.
