The
image here shows
a male specimen
as illustrated by
the yellow margin
to the dorsal,
ventral and tail
fins and the blue
patch in the "throat" region.Widely
reported as one
of the few species
of triggerfish that
can be maintained
with invertebrates.
This is only partially
true however. Although
it is very
unlikley to bother
sessile invertebrates
including corals
it will consume various
species of shrimp,
other crustaceans
and can become a
nuisance with small
fish.
Give
it space, other robust
tankmates - indeed
one or more females
of the same species-
and plenty of food
and it should
prove easy to care
for in the long
term.
